New Horizons School

New Horizons School is a Kindergarten – Grade Nine public charter school that enables academically gifted students to achieve excellence in an environment that supports the students’ unique intellectual, social and emotional needs. Established in 1995, New Horizons is Alberta’s oldest charter school. The school is currently located in Ardrossan, Alberta - just minutes from Sherwood Park and Edmonton. Parents of elementary students (Gr. k-6) will have the opportunity to book an interview time with their child’s teacher.  Parents will be notified when the office will be booking times.

Junior High interviews will be on a first come first served bases.

Halloween: Costume Day
Oct 31 all-day

Students are invited to wear costumes for Halloween. please consider the following when choosing a costume for your child to wear at school:

  • Students should be able to maintain their costumes independently.
  • Choose a costume that will not make it difficult to participate in school instructional activities as well as recess and physical education.
  • Full face masks can be worn only during the Parade of Costumes.
  • If a toy weapon accompanies a costume, it can be brought out only during the parade of costumes. Toy weapons are expected to be stored away at all other times including recess. Please reinforce with your child the importance of never pointing a toy weapon at anyone at any time.

House points will be awarded to students who dress up for Halloween.
