An Overview of New Horizons School
New Horizons School is a public school currently serving approximately 190 students from Kindergarten through Grade 9, in Ardrossan just minutes east of the City of Edmonton.
New Horizons School was established as Canada’s first public Charter School. Our school operates as a parent governed, government funded, charter school for gifted children.
The School is intended to serve students from the Strathcona County area although students do commute from the greater Edmonton area. The school is governed by the New Horizons Charter School Society, a non-profit charitable society made up of parents, teachers and interested community members. The society operates the school under a charter with the Minister of Learning for the Province of Alberta.
