First Day - Set Up and Routines - Tuesday, September 04, 2012

September 4, 2012

Today, we will concentrate on set up and routines.  Once we have established our routines, organized school supplies and set up laptops, we can review our expectations and goals as a classroom community.  Afterwards, we can work on cirricular requirements.

Grade 6 students will be starting with these Units:
Language Arts - morking work from Daily Lanuage (Gr.6 and Gr.7 for enrichment), drafting a letter of introduction (focus on sentence structures/editing)
Math - understaning numbers
Science - guided-discovery discussions about 'a world without trees' 
Social - discussions on the pillars of democracy and posters
Art/ Music - Art Appreciation and Music Around the World
Phys. Ed./Health - Fitness Unit  and Maintaining healthy interactions
